Thank you so much for this article. My daughter is 18 months and has been night weaning for a week now. Papa has taken night duty and it's been great for their relationship, but it has been much harder on me. We decided to night wean because we would really like another little one soon and my cylce hasn't returned. I have no intention of totally weaning her but in the past week I have noticed she asks to nurse less frequently-even during the day. Shock! I was glad to read your article and hear about how weaning was an emotionally stressful time for you as well. I know it's the first of many cases in which my daughter will be ready to grow up when I'm not ready for her to. Now Mama just has to work on acceptance. Thanks again!

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I would love to hear how you night weaned.

With an 18 mth toddler who wakes at an average of 10 times each night to nurse, I have read many books (including the No Cry Sleep Solution) and attempted to implement the various techniques... no help.

What a great and thoughtful article! Thanks for sharing your experience and the tips. I'll be passing them on to a friend who was motivated to wean her little one at fourteen months when she found out she was pregnant again... So good to see all the ways people make AP work for them! Take care.
