It’s so comforting to see you as an example. I’m trying to parent in a similar way but I do struggle sometimes. It would be so much easier to use punishment sometimes but I know in my heart that in the long term it wouldn’t have the results that I want. I’m going to check out more of your blog. I’d love to read some more on how you dealt with the toddler years. I have a 4 year old a 2 year old and a 3 month baby.

Although my parents say “we probably spanked you too much”, and my sister says “I have almost never spanked my kids”, they still see a role for spanking and believe that it is not harmful as long as it is not extreme. Even though in discussions with me, they’ve never actually found a situation that was defensible…
