Submission Guidelines for TheAttachedFamily.com:

API promotes parenting practices that create strong, healthy emotional bonds between children and their parents. Through education, support, advocacy and research, our principal goal is to heighten global awareness of the profound significance of secure attachment – not only to invest in our children’s bright futures, but to reduce and ultimately prevent emotional and physical mistreatment of children, addiction, crime, behavioral disorders, mental illness, and other outcomes of early unhealthy attachment.

TheAttachedFamily.com invites your original, unpublished work that serves API’s community of families, media, professionals and others seeking to learn more about Attachment Parenting.

Articles can be on any topic related to API’s Eight Principles of Parenting. For more information about the Principles, visit http://attachmentparenting.org/principles/principles.php. Articles are accepted on a continual basis.

API’s online magazine style is more formal than API’s APtly Said blog (a community of expression outlet about AP life). For TheAttachedFamily.com, we are looking for interviews, journalistic features and how-tos, but we will also publish unique perspectives from parents, similar to the style of our Attached Family print magazine.

Word count is generally 1,000 words or less.

We will not include links to external websites within articles. The author byline may include one link to an approved external website, at the discretion of the editor.

Since API provides TheAttachedFamily.com as a service to all families free of charge, we do not compensate authors for articles. However, each post gets widespread exposure through API resources, partners and social networks, and furthers the mission of serving all parents in raising compassionate, connected children.
